Belarusian Internet is going to face hard times as the “hands” of the government reached this last particle of freedom. “Anarchy in Internet should be stopped”, - stated the Belarusian dictator when meeting with “his” reporters in “Sovetskaya Belarus” editorial office. He also mentioned that none of the Belarusian governmental sites represented in Internet have the audience more than 5,000 users. Lukashenka also complained that Internet became “the speaking-trumpet of not even the opposition but of enemy voices and countries”. The Belarusian television started the series of TV reports about Internet.
As we all know the Belarusian dictatorship doesn’t want and can’t compete, it’s easier to prohibit, liquidate, limit and restrict. That is what BY net will face if we don’t repulse. You just remember the fight with the youth, independent press, and even the cartoons. Using the law people were sent to prison.
We don’t want BY net to repeat it all. Unlike the opposition we have a chance to win as the dictatorship is weak in Internet and we are stronger, cleverer and there are more of us. We just should all be together.
The Belarusian Youth Movement in America (www.belmov.org), The Third Way (www.3dway.org), and our partners (www.peremen.info) offer everyone to join the campaign “against the censorship and control in BY net’. It’s an informal initiative. The first action will be held on the dictator’s birthday. On August, 30 we’ll show our solidarity and absurd of controlling Internet.
