Bust of Vasil Bykau was transferred to Columbia University |

On March 21 a bust sculpture of a well-known Belarusian writer Vasil Bykau was transferred to Columbia University.

An official agreement to transfer the bust of the writer to Columbia University was achieved at the end of last year between the Belarusian Museum in New York and representatives of Belarusian Diaspora. The symbolic transfer took place yesterday with the participation of the sculptor of the bust artist Ales Shaternik and Vitaut Kipel, the chairman of the Belarusian Institute of Science and Art, a famous Belarusian historian. The bust of Vasil Bykau will be placed in the flagship library of Columbia University – Butler Library, the collections of which include more than two million artifacts.
According to the words of Robert H. Davis, Jr. the librarian for Russian, Eurasian and East European Studies the ceremonial display in Butler Library will take place in a couple of weeks.
