Eighteen years have passed since the Belarusan Parliament proclaimed the Declaration of Sovereignty on July 27, 1990. The main initiative for the act was coming from Zianon Pazniak and Siargei Navumchyk who stood at the origins of the national “Renascence” movement.
On July 27th, Zianon Pazniak, the leader of the Belarusan Popular Front “Renascence” was presenting a report on the state of political conditions in Belarus before the official elections due to take place in several months.
