Belarusan authorities intensified repressions against young democratic activists in the first month of 2008. The peaceful demonstration organized to celebrate the Independence of Belarusan National Republic in March 25, 2008 was cruelly dispersed by the riot police, the participants were beaten up and arrested.

Apartments of journalists of Euro Radio, Radio Racyja and TV Belsat were searched just another day.
The youth activist Katsyaryna Salauyova was accused of activity on behalf of unregistered organization Young Front. The girl faced up to two years of imprisonment. The trail is schedule for April 8, 2008.

Participants of the civil campaign "European Belarus" have expressed their solidarity and support to pro-democracy activists who will standing trial on April 16, 2008 for participation in a protest rally of private entrepreneurs on January 10, 2008. 14 young democratic activists faced up to 3 years of imprisonment, Syargey Parsyukevich and Andrey Kim can face up to 6 years.

Young people who fight for democracy and European Belarus get the cruelest treatment from belarusan authorities.
On April 16 the Day of Belarusian Solidarity is traditionally celebrated in Belarus. For a few years in our country and abroad rallies with a call to the regime to release prisoners of conscience and stop repressions against oppositionists are held. Several exhibitions and movie shows about the situation in Belarus were organized. And it helped to release political prisoners. It was the effect of international solidarity and pressure on belarusan authority.

Our friends' trial day is on 16th and the decision depends on the international reaction too.
We ask our friends abroad to organize protest on 16th each month in front of Belarusan Embassies and consulates, on belarusan streets; to contact the authority of your countries and ask them to intensify sanctions because it can help to release political prisoners; inform mass media about the situation in Belarus.
