Since the situation with freedom of speech, expression and information in Belarus has been worsening substantially, since the anti-Belarusian regime factually destroyed the press in the Belarusian language and is putting an end to the very last of Belarusian publications; since the government has monopolized and established control over Belarusian mass media and is also trying to control the Internet, the Belarusian Youth Movement of America commenced a new campaign in the spring of 2006. The campaign aims at supporting the wave of Belarusian revival in the web space. The campaign’s purpose is to assist non-profit organizations, movements and just decent people in creating Internet web pages, websites, web portals, which will use Belarusian language as the main means of communication and foster Belarusian culture.
